The Woodworking Page

I have a nice little workshop in my basement with a pretty good collection of tools.  Here is a list of some of the power tools I am using:

General 50-185 10" table saw

Jet JWBS-14DX  14" bandsaw

Jet JJ6CS 6" Jointer

DeWalt DW735 13" planer

Rockler Router Table with JessEm Lift

Jet DC650 Dust Collector

Rockler mini lathe 10 x 18

Jet slow speed wet sharpening grinder

Here are some of the projects I've done in the last couple years since getting more heavily into wood working:

Picture Frame in  maple and red oak

Picture frame from the back

54"x24" table in maple.  The table surfaces are inlaid into the support rails

The uprights are splined waterfall joints

Small pipe case made from bubinga and birch plywood

The box was made with through dovetails and all edges were eased

Hardware is solid brass from Rockler

This shows the detail of the construction

The inside of the case was covered with green felt

Turning Section

All these were turned on a mini lathe from Rockler out of exotic hardwoods

The works were purchased from Rockler and assembled after turning

They represent a variety of finishing styles but currently I am sanding to 12000

Grit micromesh, buffing with EEE compound and then finishing with Shelewax
